Annual holiday insurance 'worthwhile'
29th Otobert 2008
Winter sun seekers have been given a list of cost-cutting tips by JSTFinancial.co.uk, including advice about holiday insurance.
Buying holiday insurance annually was said to be "very much worthwhile" for those who go abroad more than once a year.
There can also be discounted rates if a whole family is covered.
Holidaymakers were warned that late and last-minute deals are no longer necessarily the best options, with earlier bookings now frequently meaning better deals.
You can also get reduced cost healthcare in Europe if you hold the free European Health Insurance Card.
In addition, currency should be pre-ordered, as this gives a better exchange rate than buying it at the airport.
Almost all cards charge for foreign currency transactions, with Nationwide being an exception.
Recently, the British Insurance Brokers' Association reiterated the importance of travel insurance, calling it "as important as your suitcase".
Spokesperson Graeme Trudgill said it would be a false economy not to buy it, as many people need to claim on it.
