Parents looking to take their kids on a family holiday this summer have been advised to make sure they have holiday insurance.

Magnetic PR has stated that family holidays with the children can be some of the most expensive holidays to go on, as companies hike up the cost of flights and accommodation during school breaks, so it is important families take out travel insurance to save any distress.

Travel insurance will help provide cover for any travel items that are lost or damaged, cover if flights are cancelled or any medical costs if required.

Specialty insurance such as family holiday insurance may provide the best cover.

And despite the fact that holidays are more expensive during the summer holidays, new research has found that this isn't putting Brits off donning their bikinis and swimming trunks.

Research from the travel community company Trip Advisor found that 61 per cent of the 4,000 people it surveyed intended on going on a beach holiday this summer.
