16/09/2008
A majority of British holidaymakers miss having a cup of tea while abroad, a new survey has revealed.
Research carried out by Holiday Extras revealed that a whopping 65.6 per cent of holidaymakers miss tea more than any other home comforts.
Other popular items include HP sauce, beaked beans, Marmite and custard. Wit 5.9 per cent of people naming Branston Pickle as the item they cannot do without.
Commenting on the findings, Mike Whiting, managing editor at Holiday Extras, said: "I think that our survey shows the British public's love of its traditional favorites is as strong as ever, they're simply the best. You simply cannot beat a nice cup of tea and a biscuit."
In related news, a separate study carried out by the company found that despite the credit crunch, Brits are unwilling to sacrifice their holidays, with most people claiming that they spend between £500 and £1,000 on their annual holiday abroad.
